Privacy and rules

This page says what Ourside keeps, why, and how to behave here. It is short on purpose.

Ourside is a test version. It is run by Zac Giddings. To ask anything, email zac@pluszero.online.

What we keep

We do not keep your location. We do not read your contacts.

Why we keep it

The app needs it to work. That is the only reason.

No ads. We never sell your data. We do not share it with anyone for their marketing.

Who can see it

Messages are private in the app. They are not end-to-end encrypted. The small team that runs Ourside can reach the data. We only do that to fix a problem or to look into a report.

Where it lives

Your data is stored in London with a company called Supabase. The app is served by a company called Vercel. Fonts load from Google. Notifications travel through Apple or Google to reach your phone.

These companies handle data for us so the app can run. Some of them are based outside the UK and Australia.

The app saves your sign-in on your phone so you stay logged in. It does not use tracking cookies.

Emails

We only send news emails if you ticked the box. To stop them, email us and we will take you off the list.

We may email you about your account, like a change to this page.

Your choices

Age

You must be 16 or over to use Ourside. If we learn that someone is under 16, we will remove the account.

The rules

You can report or block anyone from their profile. We read every report. We may remove posts or accounts that break these rules.

What you post is yours. You let us store it and show it to your friends, and that is all.

Ourside is a test version. Things may break or change. We may end the test, and we will tell you first if we do.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email.
